Complaint and Grievance Procedures
(for the Job Service, Workforce Investment Act and claims of discrimination within the job service programs as administered through the Resource Centers)
For Resource Center customers there are typically three general complaint categories:
1. A complaint regarding the regulations and policies related to the Job Service;
2. A complaint regarding regulations and policies related to Title 1B of the Workforce Investment Act; and
3. A complaint claiming discrimination of a protected class (race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, physical/mental status).
All complaints that claim discrimination must follow the Equal Opportunity Discrimination procedures, this is true regardless of whether the complaint arises from WIA or job service origin.
VDOL customers who feel that they would like to appeal or file a grievance may do so by contacting a staff member at any one of our VDOL resource centers. Upon receipt of a complaint, Resource Center staff will initiate a file.
