Fraud Alert: Third-Party Messaging Apps Posing at VT Labor

The Vermont Department of Labor has become aware of fraudsters looking to interact with Vermonters through third-party online applications and website, and posing as the Department in doing so. Claimants would be asked for personal private information (PPI), which may include Social Security Number, Banking Information, and ID numbers (i.e. Driver's Liscenses, etc.). Claimants have reported being contacted through social media, such as Facebook. 

If you receive a message and are asked to interact with scammers through these sort of methods, please disregard the message, report it to the Department/social platform, and DO NOT provide information, as this form of communication is fraudulent. 

Any one looking to contac the Department should do so only thorugh official methods, including by contacting Claimant Assistance, visiting Labor.Vermont.gov, or through official social media accounts.
