MONTPELIER, VT – The Vermont Department of Labor formally announced today the launch of its newly designed website. The revamped site, which went live on Monday, July 8, 2019, offers users an uncluttered design and streamlined layout that is easier to navigate, and provides an overall more customer-focused experience.

“The primary goal of building this new website was to create a more valuable, convenient and user-centric resource for jobseekers, employers, claimants and the general public,” Michael Harrington, Deputy Commissioner for the Department of Labor, said of the new site. “The public interacts with our website on a daily basis, so it is incredibly important that this site be designed with them in mind.”

The new site focuses on public awareness, was built to minimizes the number of clicks for the viewer, and features a public calendar of important dates. Likewise, frequent users of the site can still find the information they are used to accessing on a regular basis, such as filing claims for unemployment benefits, reporting workplace injuries, locating local workforce resources, and printing mandatory workplace posters. The new site also aggregates data on page views and click rates so that the most popular content can be at the forefront.

It is advised that frequent users of the Department’s old website clear internet browser caches and history to prevent page error messages. Also, any saved or bookmarked URLs should be re-saved, as page extensions may have changed.
