Bennington Battle Day (Offices Closed)

The Vermont Department of Labor will operate in a limited capacity on Monday, August 17 due to the Bennington Battle Day holiday. Department of Labor offices remain closed to the public due to COVID-19, but will reopen for virtual services on Tuesday, August 18.

  • The Unemployment Insurance (UI) Call Center will be open for regular business hours (8:00am – 5:30pm) on Monday, August 17. Claimants may contact the UI Call Center at 1-877-214-3332.
  • Regular UI and PUA claimants may continue to file their weekly claims as normal.
  • The UI Employer Services line will be closed on Monday, August 17. Regular business hours will resume on Tuesday, August 18.

Virtual Town Hall Series - Unemployment Insurance 101 for Claimants

To help the increasing number of people filing for unemployment insurance benefits, the Vermont Department of Labor has added claimant-focused sessions to its schedule of Virtual Town Hall events.

THURSDAY, APRIL 9

  • Unemployment Insurance 101 for Claimants
    • Time: 8:30am – 9:15am
    • Overview: Department of Labor staff will provide an overview of the unemployment insurance claims process, common questions claimants have and general tips for claimants.

Virtual Town Hall Series: Employers

The Vermont Department of Labor has announced that it will hold the first in a series of Virtual Town Hall events on Thursday, April 2 at 2:00pm. This first event will focus on services for employers, focusing on issues around Unemployment Insurance, among other labor-related topics. Full event details are listed below:

The event is available for any employer in the State of Vermont looking for more information about labor related topics. A portion of the event will be held for Q&A with the presenters. If you are unable to view the event, a recording will be created and made available for viewing after the event.
