Act 80 Sec. 9 Implementation Report: Promoting the Employment of New Americans in Vermont

In Act 80 of 2019, the Vermont Department of Labor (VDOL) was charged with taking steps to promote the employment of New Americans. VDOL was pleased to accept the assistance of the Agency of Commerce and Community Development, the Department of Human Resources, the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation in the Department of Aging and Independent Living, State Refugee Office Director Denise Lamoureux, the Refugee & Immigrant Service Providers Network, the Community College of Vermont (CCV), the University of Vermont (UVM), the Vermont Chamber of Commerce, Brattleboro Development Credit Corporation, Vermont Businesses for Responsibility (VBSR), United Way of Northwest Vermont (United Way), Invest EAP, the Association of Africans Living in Vermont (AALV), and the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI) in carrying out the work related to this report and offering information, data, feedback, resources and recommendations as described in the report.
