| Overview | The Employ VT: Youth Career Connector program, formerly named the Summer Youth Employment Program, is established under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) to support out-of-school youth ages 16-24 who face barriers to employment, such as limited work experience, low income, or other qualifying factors. This program provides paid work experience, job readiness training, and supportive services, equipping participants with the skills and confidence needed to succeed in the workforce. |

| Applicant Profile | Innovative youth programs operated under the provisions of WIOA to provide opportunity youth with high quality educational, training, and employment services. Applicants may include: for-profit organizations, non-profit organizations, public agencies; and/or a collaboration of these organizations. |

| Award Summary | Approximately 10 selected applicants will receive up to $75,000 each with the combined funding pool totaling approximately $400,000. |

| Overview | The overarching goal of this program is to help employers fill their available jobs and to connect job seekers who experience barriers to those opportunities. We are seeking applicants in communities/regions willing to lead this effort, with support from the Vermont Department of Labor’s Workforce Expansion Program staff. |

| Applicant Profile | Applicants for this opportunity are expected to be in a lead role in Economic or Workforce Development in their region. This includes Regional Development Corporations, municipalities, or other community-based organizations who fit the description. |
