Each year in July, the Department of Labor adjusts the Maximum Weekly Benefit Amount (MWBA) in accordance with Vermont law. The new MWBA is set at $668.
Individuals who are eligible for this increase were mailed a letter from the Department indicating their MWBA was recalculated. This applies to all individuals who have an open benefit year, whether or not you are currently filing for benefits. If you have established a UI claim in the past 12 months, you may disregard the notice.
If you received notice and have not filed a claim for benefits in the past 12 months, please call the number indicated on the letter to report your claim as potentially fraudulent.
