OFFICES CLOSED for State Holiday (Christmas Day)

The Vermont Department of Labor offices, including the UI Claimant Assistance Center and local Job Centers, will be closed on December 25th in observance of Christmas Day. Note: If the holiday falls on a Saturday, it is observed on the preceding Friday; if it falls on a Sunday, it is observed on the following Monday. The Department will resume regular business hours on the next business day after the observance.

  • You can still file your claim online, but due to the holiday, you may experience a minor delay in payment.
  • UI Claimants should expect high call volumes and longer-than-usual wait times on the next business day after the holiday observance. To avoid long wait times, you are encouraged to call either later in the day or later in the week. If you need to contact the UI Claimant Assistance Center to file your weekly claim, you have until Friday at 4 p.m. to do so.
  • Regularly scheduled virtual workshops will not be held.
  • Individuals may contact the Workforce Development team through the Job Seeker Inquiry Form or by calling a local job center directly.
