Active Phishing Scam Updates

On Tuesday, November 24, the Vermont Department of Labor was made aware of an active phishing attempt against Vermonters. Through the usage of email, text messaging, and other forms of communication, the senders of these fraudulent communications provided details on 'COVID-19 benefits and compensation'.  Updates and information on this attempt are provided below.

If you have received these communications, the Department advises individuals to take no action, such as clicking on links or submitting information through a web form or application. If this was done inadvertently, your best recourse is to report suspected fraudulent activity by contacting the Vermont Attorney General’s Consumer Assistance Program at: (800) 649-2424.
